With over 20 years of teaching experience, I teach clarinet students at any stage of their musical development, and musicians of any instrument better self use through the Feldenkrais Method ®. I believe in tailoring every lesson to the needs of the individual student. As a Feldenkrais Practitioner, I have a unique perspective on teaching the student how to inquire within their own self-coordination to find neurological answers to musical or physical challenges with their instrument.

I accept students of all ages, playing levels, and interest levels, from serious students preparing for university/conservatory study to beginners and adult students. I am an advocate of the arts, and believe that every individual should have the opportunity to explore their inner creativity through music, regardless of playing level or career goals.

Having played in the Fred Fox Wind Quintet, Arizona Symphony Orchestra, and U of A Wind Ensemble, Ivo has vast performing experience. He served as visiting professor at the UFRN, acting as sabbatical replacement and taught undergraduate lessons. 1st prize winner of the 46th President’s and AFS’s Young Artist competitions.

Winner of the University of Arizona’s first ever Morceau de Concours, Kaissy is a vibrant performer who has a passion for teaching. She has experience teaching all ages, having served as flute teacher for the University’s Outreach Honor Band (teaching students grades 6-9) and Tucson New Horizons.

Mrs. Masiello has performed in many Broadway shows in New York City, was an Artist-Fellow at the Bach Aria Festival & Institute in NY, and performed in many groups throughout the United States. In Arizona, she was principal oboe for Sun Cities Symphony. Mrs. Masiello has received awards for chamber music with The Rosewood Chamber Ensemble from "Artist International", the National Endowment for the Arts, and the New York State Council on the Arts. She is a former teacher for the Deer Valley School District where she taught choir, band, and general music.

Katrina is a respected, professional flutist and flute teacher in the northeast Phoenix metropolitan area. Lessons are given in her home, always with a caring and nurturing atmosphere.

Thoughts On Private Lessons

Learning to play flute is not easy and learning to play it well as a beginning, developing, or advanced player can be a slow and arduous process. A good teacher makes a difference in how quickly you learn to play your instrument, and their instruction is key to developing good habits and techniques that will make you a better player.

You will learn basic fundamentals with a strong emphasis on correct breathing, proper muscle development, sight reading, music theory and a high self-esteem, self-worth and an accomplishment-oriented mindset.

All ages and levels are welcome in the Colorful Clef Flute Studio! I am the flute instructor at Phoenix College, and I love helping flutists become confident, capable musicians. My students have been accepted into college music programs, honor bands, and youth symphonies. We will be creative and have fun while working towards your goals!

Each student is unique. They need different motivations and different materials to work through advancing from their current level. As such a defined, regular lesson plan or structure is difficult to determine. Each student needs different feedback from the instructor to develop the skills they need to succeed.

Looking for students at ALL levels (beginning to advanced). My specialty is jazz improv and theory but specialize in general saxophone as well.

As an educator and woodwind instrumentalist, I strive to demonstrate professional musicianship so that my students are engaged and inspired throughout their musical journey. My aim is to guide them through strong fundamental studies on woodwind instruments, because the techniques gained by mastering such studies are the foundation of a strong background.
